Get Involved!

RIGHT AWAY -  YOUR SCHOOL IN APRIL/MAY/JUNE

If you are interested in having greenLockers in your school (i.e., you are a teacher, adminstrator, a parent, or a student) then I would love to hear from you at ted@greenLockers.org if you meet the following criteria.

Checklist for Intermediate/Junior High/ High Schools and Colleges:

1. A student organization (e.g., National Honor Society, Young Life, 5-Star, student government, etc…) willing to partner with greenLockers in that school.

- the responsibilities of this organization would be the following:

a. Some internal advertising towards the end of school (i.e., following the standard protocal of video announcements, posters, etc…)

b. Placement of the containers into the hallways on locker clean-out days – we will provide the containers for you if you do not already have some.

c. Retrieval of the containers on those days into a central location (i.e., need to get school administration approval for a staging area)

d. An initial sort of the collected supplies (i.e., to separate out the trash from the usable supplies, weigh, and sort)

2. Be able to have some contact with a  school administrator for approval of the above actions.

Checklist for Primary/Elementary Schools:

1. A teacher or PTO group willing to partner with greenLockers in that school.

2. Be able to have some contact with a  school administrator for approval of the above actions.

**We have finished a DVD to walk you through the process – or you can email us for further details.

FINANCIALLY:

We are excited to announce new containers specifically designed and manufactured by the W.C. Redmon corporation for greenLockers. They are willing to manufacture them at wholesale cost so that we can be in the most schools possible. Regardless of the size of your gift, at least 75% of all of our funds go to purchasing these containers. Simply put – more contributions = more containers = more schools = more students contributing = more underprivileged students being helped = more communities transformed! The other 25% of your contribution goes towards shipment costs of the materials to and from schools as well as internships for college students interested in non-profits.

All contributions are tax-deductible!

BE A CORPORATE SPONSOR - why would you want this?

1. This one time investment equals at least 8-10 years or marketing (i.e., these 600D canvas containers, with reinforced stitching, will last at least this long).

2. You are able to have a full color logo printed directly into the canvas material.

3. You are able to get your corporation in front of tens of thousands of students (last year in 34 schools over 17,000 students heard of this project).

4. Students hear about this within days of letting out for summer break.

5. Advertising is very dense – daily announcements (for about a two weeks) as well as the containers themselves in the hallways during locker clean-out time.

6. Helping schools to go green, empowering students leadership, and enabling more students the ability to get an education.

Details on levels of Corporate sponsorship:

Donation Sponsorship ($2,000-$12,000) -  This level is especially for those that may be unable to give financially, but still want to have a big involvement in equipping local students in need. A donation sponsor can give school supply donations and/or gift cards (with which greenLockers would purchase school supplies from your corporation).

i.      Your corporation would be commended as providing donations to greenLockers in all of the press releases/media coverage.

ii.      With a financial contribution, you could fund new containers for the schools (cost is $8,000 per 1,000 container minimum), but no corporate logo would be printed.

Compassion Sponsorship ($15,000-$25,000) – This level of sponsorship shows true compassion because 80% of the financial contribution would go directly into purchasing more containers, so that more schools and students can participate resulting in more underprivileged students in the community getting their much needed supplies. The remaining 20% would go towards several college student internships as well as some shipping and transportation costs of the containers to the schools and the pick-up of the supplies.  At this level.

i.      Your corporation would be included in press releases/media coverage as a “sponsor” of greenLockers

ii.      A full color, corporate logo would be printed directly into the fabric of the containers.

Commitment Sponsorship ($30,000-$50,000 or more!) – This level demonstrates not only compassion for students, schools, and the community, but a true commitment. 75% of the financial contribution would go directly to purchasing of more containers, and the remaining 25% would fund the full 4 internships as well as cover all of the shipping and transportation costs. This is the complete package to allow greenLockers to reach at least 100 schools!

i.      Your corporation would be included as a “title” sponsor in all press releases/media coverage and school advertising.

ii.      A full color, corporate logo would be printed directly into the fabric of the containers- influencing 500,000 students during its lifespan.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES?

You can either drop them off at Bethel College at the administration building located at 1001 West McKinley Avenue, Mishawaka, IN 46545 (MAP)

OR

if you need to schedule a pick-up of supplies please email us.

VOLUNTEER FOR SORTING?

Want to volunteer your time and energy to help us sort through the supplies at either the schools or the warehouse?? Contact me and let me know what you want to do – ted@greenlockers.org

SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT OUR SHAKLEE PARTNERSHIP?

We need individuals to spread the word about our new partnership with Shaklee, so that we can gain more sustainable flow of resources to expand our operation. Do you know people that love organic products? How about those that love to work-out? People that would be willing to try more earth-friendly cleaning products for their home? What about corporations or schools that would really like to go green? If so then please spread the word – simple email potentially interested people this link - http://greenlockers.myshaklee.com/us/en/about.html

TRUCKS?

Do you have a straight truck or a box truck that you might be willing to donate some time to greenLockers?

We need trucks to transport containers to and from schools in May:

When: around the last 2 weeks of May, one trip to drop off the containers at the schools (around end of the school day) and then one trip to pick them up and take them to the warehouse.

Number needed: most likely 5, but still a bit unknown at this point. I should be getting some estimates in early May

Time required: ~ 1-2 hours on the drop-off portion, but 2-3 hours for the pick-up process. There should be some volunteers at each location to help you load up the truck – then all you have to do is take it to the warehouse, where some other volunteers will be there to help unload it.

** we may also be using just regular pick-up trucks and/or trailers for this –

— If interested, please send us an email.

A 10,12 or 15 passenger Van?

Do you have a 10,12,or 15 passenger van that you would be willing to donate to greenLockers? We are in need of a van to easily transport supplies, deliver containers to area schools, and transport volunteers.

— If interested, please send us an email.

DISTRIBUTION SITE – Are you a Charity or a School? Do you need these supplies?

If you run a non-profit organization, a school, or community center that could benefit from receiving school supplies please feel free to fill out a WISH LIST APPLICATION FORM!. At this point, all distribution of greenLockers’ supplies are NOT FOR RESALE of any kind. It is strictly a donation distribution. In other words, materials received through greenLockers should not be resold.
